1st October, you need a pollution sticker from 1st October 2008

If you plan to drive into Munich, inside the inner ring road, from today you need a polution sticker in your car etc, or you can be fined €40. You can buy this direct at any Tüv station for €5 or purchase by post. The information can be found here.

Oktoberfest starts on Saturday

The 2008 Oktoberfest will offgicially start at 12.00am on Saturday September 20th. I will be there and will take photographs to add to the Munich City Guide.

Munich's 850th Birthday

Munich's great Birthday arrived and celebrations started last week-en 14-15th June. There are now so many pages about Munich, I have decided not to add yet another page. If you find anything that would look good in the Munich City Guide, just send an email with the details.

Not really Munich, but interesting

Musical Showstar 2008 final was held on Friday 19th April on the German TV channel ZDF.

ZDF created a show for the recruitment of two people to join the show Starlight Express in Germany.

The show was hosted by Thomas Gottschalk and was one of the best TV shows I have ever seen. It had drama, passion, humour and also involved the public. If any TV channel in the world is looking for a new show format, this could be a winner.
